It's seems there's no consensus. Let's open a discuss thread then and
explore alternatives.

I think we all agree it's ok to lose these old non-Apache Maven
repositories, right?
As a NetBeans Platform Architect (not as any employee) I certainly don't
agree with such a statement. There are people out there who still build
against RELEASE82 or older and it is not OK to let their builds fail
without a replacement.
