Jacques, Disassociating a gl account from an internal company should only happen when there are no other associations involved (i.e. transactions). When the setup has been done and it is taken into production, the risk of removing the association might jeopardize data integrity. This should never happen.
Moreover, when you ask accountants they will say 'what is in, stays in'. Expiring the association would be better, to ensure that the gl account can't be selected anymore.
