Jeffrey's changes are off of our 3.0 line, not our 2.0 line.
We can easily release a 2.2.3 which is off of our 2.x line, repackaged and
re-licensed, if folks think there's value with this.
Our current plan is put Jeffrey's work in a 4.0 line. We'll release the 3.0
before 4.0, and everything in 3.0 will be in 4.0. We'll try to maintain 3.x in
parallel with 4.x where the 3.x works on HBase 0.94 and the 4.x works on HBase
0.96 +
