Hi,
I can second this. Sun is actively working on the MacOSX port and
providing binaries for the x86 Aqua platform. It's up to each native
language team which build they want to have distributed. As a Sun
employee I just can solicit the use of the Sun provided builds.
This is not the first time, that we have this situation (we always had it Windows and Linux builds that have been done by Sun and Pavel in parallel).
It is up to *us* - the community to decide what builds will be released. That's why we have a release process and need to approve a certain build before distribution to the mirror network.
For Mac OSX paltform, the decision should be taken by the Mac porting team. In general I'd prefere the Sun builds, as with those builds we have less differences to the other platforms (also build by Sun). Crashreports can only analyzed for Sun builds (afaik).
But - if we find, that Maho's builds have superior quality we could go on and release those builds. I would suggest this under very rare circumstances only.
Kind regards, Joost
