There was a similar discussion about the action statements for the OOo
homepage (you probably remember it...) - why don't we just have
Download Now instead of "I want to download OOo", or "Do More" instead
of "I want to do more with my OOo", etc and we (the team responsible
for implementing the new design) decided (after lots of discussion) to
have the longer action statements because they were more
straightforward for very new users (i.e., not all our users are young
web-savvy individuals who know their way around every site). That is
why I tried to continue the same style in this page...

Similar as above, this is mainly to keep visual design consistency
with the homepage (I reused the same stylesheet) - the lines are there
to help clearly distinguish the various links in the list. Do you
think maybe a dotted line or a more colorful line would be a better
look?

Regards,
Ivan.
