Since Alexandro tagged me in his original message in this thread, I'll
make a quick comment.

I don't own *.services.openoffice.org nor do I administer it. I work
with two services hosted there though... the OOoWiki and the OOoForum.
The Wiki was already there and running when I picked up on some of the
admin there. The Forum was added later via a request from the community.

There are several other OOo related services domains such as Templates
and Extensions.

That sounds reasonable. There is no empty bank of idle servers in a
data center somewhere waiting for Community apps to be deployed to them.
A new service would need to be assessed, planned and coordinated etc.
(it could require the deployment of new server hardware for example).
There are no fixed/documented set of procedures for the Community that I
am aware of, and no guarantee that any random services proposal would
actually be hosted on *.services.oo.o. As others have already stated,
if there is a web service that should be hosted on, or connected to
*.services, then just let everyone know.

Maybe this could be rolled into or suggested in the ooo-migration to
Kenai (this is an opportunity to clean up some of the clutter and
mystery around OOo web services)
