I've not quite asked an FoI like that, but ... the flip side is that one advantage of an FoI, especially sent via WDTK, is that there is a convenient process, known timescale, no need to look up exact contact details within an organisation and so on. Where organisations have a rather sketchy record at responding to enquiries from a general member of the public that is particularly useful, and more than once I've had no reply to a direct contact like that but the FoI route then has worked.
