any chance that the Gold and Silver cards setup the same? We just got wireless internet service from prairie i-net and they provide a silver card. They don't support linux but do say they will provide the driver. I installed in in a windows machine because I am currently using my e-smith for a web site development platform and I have a project a little over half done that I don't want to take any chances with.
