Hi, I wouldn't recommend on having a root-entry in smbpasswd. Why not use an entry in /etc/smbusers (or /etc/samba/smbusers) for this?
BTW, mine looks like this: #smbusers for essg ; !=stop processing if user found, !admin = @admin administrator Administrator #for machine-account creation and printers root = admin Bart > > Auto-creation of the root user in smbpasswd when you set the system password. > > NOTE: We would like to delete the root user from smbpasswd as soon as we are > able to do so. > > Gordon -- Please report bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] (only) to discuss security issues Support for registered customers and partners to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives by mail and http://www.mail-archive.com/devinfo%40lists.e-smith.org
