My opinion.

Mitel is a commercial business. Mitel acquired significant expertise from
e-smith, not the least of which was a core group of very talented people.
Mitel is moving that expertise to work on Mitel's various commercial
products.

What is the future of Mitel's open-source release? Answer, it is
open-source. It has a development community. This community continues to
include the volunteer efforts of Charlie, Gordon and other e-smith/Mitel
developers. As with any open-source project, the future is ultimately what
the community contributes to make it become.

As continuing events unfold I expect the community will rally to meet
whatever challenges lie ahead.

Regards

Darrell
