Yes, good idea to trim whitespace instead of moving the bar!

I need to catch up with the IRC backlog, the devl backlog, and write a 
personal message for the news entry about fundraising - probably no time to 
work on this myself on the weekend :| Sorry.

It needs to be highly visible since we're out of money. So I would keep it 
where it is.

Cleaning up the download page -> Good idea. As said by someone else somewhere: 
It should only contain the download button and the very minimum information 
needed to install.

Also good idea to additionally add the donation bar to further pages! Download 
page as you said; and also the page for donating, since it will there help 
people with choosing their donation size.

But as said, this is an emergency fundraiser, so we need the bar as visible as 
possible, and thus please keep it on the front page where it is now.
