Okay, I'm new to the list, so maybe I'm a bit out of line, but what suprises me is that this group starts to think about a music/MP3 client NOW, kind of after the fact. I don't want to start a spam war about this, but this opportunity should have been clear months ago, when the RIAA filed the suit in the first place. It seems to me, as a new subscriber to this list, that the discussion of how to implement this is just getting started since yesterday when the sad news about Napster become public. This is a great opportunity for Freenet to prove itself and to become an enormous factor in the MP3 wars the RIAA would have to deal with (in vain we all hope of course) - I suggest that we agree on a storage/protocol format as soon as possible and get a prototype into beta while the grey unwashed masses is still looking for a successor. I guess, the real question here is: ARE WE READY?
Cheers, Michael P.S.: Again, please take it easy on me with those flames now ;-) _______________________________________________ Freenet-dev mailing list Freenet-dev at lists.sourceforge.net http://lists.sourceforge.net/mailman/listinfo/freenet-dev
