These Fortville interfaces are very interesting to us. We have a contractor
(OmniOS) scheduled to work on it. I recommend you coordinate efforts there.
(Frankly I’d love to do this work myself, but I’m up to my eyeballs in userland
stuff these days.)
I’m certainly hoping to pitch in whatever way I can — whether help with design
(should it be necessary) or code review. I’ve written more than a couple of
Ethernet drivers for Solaris/illumos now…
(Btw, I suppose at some time I ought to figure out updating our GLDv3
interfaces to improve their support for DMA resource management. That was done
for Oracle Solaris years ago now, and its probably the one thing holding us
back with respect to making the GLDv3 a “public” interface. But see above wrt
up-to-my-eyeballs.)
