Nor would anyone, I imagine.  It was -- in Schrock's immortal words --
a pinky promise, and I don't think anyone expects them to follow
through on it.

No evidence of either.  To me, it is clear that the epicenter of
innovation for the core technologies like ZFS, DTrace and Zones has
shifted to the community -- but I doubt that Oracle will ever be so
self-aware as to come to the same conclusion...
