Agreed. The stuff I usually create barely qualifies as a "prototype" as I
think that term is intended. It's usually more of "interactive model". It's
a click-through PDF or a simple Flash piece that represents a single screen
or interaction within an app rather than the whole app.

I use them primarily to communicate to a developer how something needs to
behave. I almost never use prototypes to test behavior, but I have used them
for invention's sake, in cases where something has never been done before
and I therefore have no previous experience with which to gauge its quality
at the outset.
