Yeah. both WD and Seagate accept drive returns that I wouldn't expect them to accept.
(If you say these were obviously physically damaged, please report back if Seagate notices; From what I'd guess of their procedures, they would notice, if they notice, months down the road. Note, I've never had a in warranty drive rejected by seagate, and I'm very aggressive about 'unrecoverable error== return the goddamn thing' though I've never tried to return something physically damaged.)
