I’ve tried several, I settled on using KeePass, and keeping it stored in

Same here.
KeePass writes in a specific format that is documented, which means that there
are several apps that support that format. It just wants to write to a file,
which means that it works with Dropbox and friends.
It is the only "standard" I was able to use on all platforms (Linux, Mac OSX,
Android, there are versions for Windows an IOS but I haven't tried them).
Using Dropbox vs. a service means that I keep copies of the vault and can
switch away from them whenever I want.
