Regarding Ron's earlier comment, we had a few members coming to us
stating that our arbitrary student definition is a concern. We don't
get our kicks out of sparking discussions like this for the sake of
it, believe me. We do however, want to make sure our bylaws are
consistently enforced and understand why the members in question are
concerned.

Personally, I'd like to error on the side of being too lenient.
Members can always pay more if they want to. Here's my shot at it
(inspired in part by the financial aid office's definition):
Any full or part-time student at an accredited secondary or
post-secondary institution that leads to a certificate, diploma, or
degree. Part time studies should at least involve 3 hours a week of
class time.
