I think what you have is almost perfect for the general public. All I could suggest are these things 1) Squeezebox Server branding. 2) Smaller case size 3) Perhaps a small LCD status screen like the 'QNAP TS-439' (http://www.skycomp.com.au/images/products/ts_439pro.jpg) has for example, that could show basic info; IP address, whether SC is up or down, music library stats, connected players etc.
Multi bay appeals to me, but I'm an IT guy.
