The buffering behavior that you've identified would explain rebuffering issues around track transitions. Whenever I've noticed it, it's been in the middle of a track. Perhaps this indicates a network issue for me rather than an issue with the buffering scheme used for the SB. But on the other hand, I don't know why these issues only cropped up for me with 7.3.3.
