As others have stated - without knowing what you *really* do with it recommendations are hard, and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
The system in my sig is great as an always on SBS, and just draws 20-something watts... but I also have a higher powered system to do real work. There are now excellent Intel lga1155 boards that have both a lot of umph, aggressive power management features, and fit into a miniITX board that is whisper quiet. For a silent system you ahve to do some research before you buy the components, though - I recommend silentpcreview.com. -- pablolie ...pablo Server: MiniITX build w/Intel D510MO - Ubuntu 10.04LTS - SBS 7.5.3 Sources: SB3 (3), SB Boom (3), Duet (1), Radio (1), Accuphase DP65v CD (used as DAC mostly) Amplifiers: Accuphase E306v - Creek OBH21/22 Loudspeakers: Ceeroy 3-way tower (tuned) - Audioengine 5/S8 - Acoustic Energy Aego M Headphones: Grado SR-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pablolie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87453 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
