Hey Holly and all,
Yes, I totally agree. I'm always listening in to various Apple
related podcasts and Mac news sites, hoping for a mention of
VoiceOver, and it is depressing, frequently, when there is none. I
emailed a couple of places to mention it, but got no responses
whatever. This is just the way it goes with access technology, it
seems.

This article did make me laugh a bit, but at the same time it kind
of makes me sad. It seems the only press voice over ever gets in
the mainstream mac sites is that it is annoying and how do I turn
it off. I'm not saying vo should get top story or anything like
that, but when the itunes update came out and was accessible that
was mentioned nowhere. I tried emailing some podcasters about it
and when I did get responses it was like oh that's cool but they
never mentioned it on the podcasts. It just sometimes feels like
we are invisible in both the blindness community and the sighted
community as well. I remember when tiger came out and it had voice
over, I never heard voice over mentioned. People talked about
spotlight being new and all the cool new features but voice over
was never mentioned. If I didn't read blindness related blogs and
that sort of thing I wouldn't know about voice over.
I'm not saying sighted people should always talk about voice over,
but a positive mention every now and then wouldn't hurt would it?
