Well, this is the thing: are you going to this level of detail on
*every* part of your stack? Are you auditing the kernel and the C
libraries? Are you checking the security of the firmware for the
drives in your server?

Or are you putting some trust into the fact that widely-used
components wouldn't be so widely used, or would at least have lots of
people complaining about them, if they weren't reliable?
