Getting status updates is, of course, useful.
However I will strongly suggest that that be done on the mailing list.
Real-time sessions are rare and short, so we should try to budget their
time only for things that require real-time interaction.
Asking for status updates to be posted before the session leaves open
the possibility of raising questions or comments, as follow-on, without
taking time for the basic 'presentation'.
