I have been informed by EuroDNS that the limit is 10 domains per applicant. It seems that the Belgium Registry have dropped many of the large orders placed. The email being sent out basically states that something along the lines of "due to the nature of my given email it looks as if I have no intentions of using them privately. Therefore, my order has been cancelled." The Belgium Registry has given EuroDNS a set of rules: Registrar must check for abuses by implementing: - Unique ids - Control that one registrant does not abuse and order excessive quantities of domain - Check this through unique ID and IP address level - Limit quantities per registrant - This should be done upfront This looks like we have to drop our outstanding orders and start again with a script matching the requirements above. I notice also that Tucows have now stopped .be registration? Tucows' current position is that registrations made for your individual customers are reasonable requests. However, domainers and speculators who are attempting to register hundreds of domains at one-time, using the same contact information will likely not be accepted and will ultimately be charged for those registrations, if the registry decides to charge Tucows for them. Any customer who does such a thing, will have to pay the full DNS BE pricing (which costs 6EUR for the registrar). The registrar is allowed to register 10 domains for himself during the 'free' period. I'm not sure about the Tucows API, but if you're trying to find out if a .be domain is available, don't use WHOIS. DNS BE has a nice system called DAS (Domain Availability System). More details can be found : http://www.dns.be/en/home.php?n=317 You can query DAS as many times as you like (well, don't go over 50 times per second or they will block it, but as long as you stay reasonable...)
