So in summary, you left your own details in when transferring the
domain away, and now you're complaining that another provide is emailing
you whois confirmations. I'm not sure exactly what relevance this has to
this mailing list.

Because domain admin contacts/registrants may not be direct clients of
the reseller/registrar.
