GoDaddy appears to email ALL contacts including tech contact. I still get several renewal notices despite clients having transferred domains away from us/Tucows to GD. The problem is client doesn't change the tech contact via their new registrar. We were only ever listed as tech contact, client was registrant, admin, and billing contact.
GD has not always been helpful when we have complained that the contaft info was outdated.
