If that's the case, it might make sense to change the HTTP version of WHOIS to: http://domainhelp.tucows.com/ from http://domainhelp.opensrs.net/ in order to be consistent with the port 43 version's branding. Ironically, the first one does work (i.e. domainhelp.tucows.com) but if one looks at what is authoritative at Internic, e.g.: http://reports.internic.net/cgi/whois?whois_nic=microsoft.com&type=domain it is the latter: Domain Name: MICROSOFT.COM Registrar: TUCOWS INC. Whois Server: whois.tucows.com Referral URL: http://domainhelp.opensrs.net Name Server: NS3.MSFT.NET Name Server: NS1.MSFT.NET Name Server: NS5.MSFT.NET Name Server: NS2.MSFT.NET Name Server: NS4.MSFT.NET Status: clientTransferProhibited Status: clientUpdateProhibited Status: clientDeleteProhibited Updated Date: 10-oct-2006 Creation Date: 02-may-1991 Expiration Date: 03-may-2014 i.e. Referral URL: http://domainhelp.opensrs.net Sincerely, George Kirikos http://www.kirikos.com/ _______________________________________________ domains-gen mailing list [email protected] http://discuss.tucows.com/mailman/listinfo/domains-gen
