MLL,
did
you manually go and get the latest loader.js? i think it is
necessary. i believe glenn mentioned that in a message
yesterday.
JB
This first example has been cleaned up, and it
should be pretty easy to duplicate for other add-ons. Here's the
install kit...
Any more thoughts on whether this whole add-on thing makes
sense?
Glenn, I downloaded &
executed the exe, it installs finely in the right directory (how does the
NSIS fetch its name BTW ?), but even after a "!" reload, I get nothing...
"?googlespell" returns a "no matches" alert box, and "googlespell albart
einstein" takes me to google to search this whole
string.
Don't I have to update
some .js or .exe file, too ? For instance, I entered my Google API licence key
nowhere, but normally I should get a warning, shouldn't I
?
<update>
Added
googleLicenseKey='xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/xxxxxxxx';
in localprefs.js, where
'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/xxxxxxxx' is of course my licence key. No
change
</update>
MLL
it does show up in menu. it may have
before... i just didn't look in 'Other' category.

googlespell add-on
Does it still not show up in the menu? The latest install
should put it in the 'Search the Web' category.
Nice!
thanks,
JB

Here's another install, that should
pop up a message if Google doesn't return any searches.

It should show up in the 'Others'
category now (just changed to 'Search the Web'). Attached
is an install for it. You might want to check it
out.

i also noticed it doesn't have a
<category> tag and doesn't show up in help or the
menu.
is this intentional?

Right, that's the way I've set it up
now. The subdirectory and the XML file need to have
the same name also.
check that...
when adding addons the _XML_ file
goes in the subdirectory for the
addon.
dumb
spellchecker!
JB
to be clear...
when adding addons the mol file
goes in the addon subdirectory for the
addon??
...just storing this info up for
some FAQ.
thanks,
JB
To create an add-on
search/feature:
1. create a subdirectory with
the name of the add-on under the addons
subdirectory
2. create an .xml file with the
same name as the addon, with the same format as the
searches.
