Darrell, I agree with you 100% on the lack of sidetone, etc. on vintage equipment. When I completed my "ultimate boatanchor CW transmitter" last year, I included sidetone, pumped through the matching homebrew receiver's audio and well as the muting you mentioned. 73 Lee WB6SSW
