The driver will be an incremental change. The 6xx family is conceptually
different inside and there is a learning curve, but the basic
programming model is largely unchanged from previous generations. There
are just a lot more changes in things like memory controller setup, and
some of the VAP functionality moves into vertex shaders. 

We definitely plan to do any further work on Gallium; we just want to
get a 6xx 3D driver in users hands quickly on a code base that everyone
knows already.
