Here's a thought, what if Apple unveils the sub-notebook as the only G4 PowerBook
before upgrading the current G3 line? Then if you want G4 portability, you have to buy
the sub-notebook. Then 6 months later, the G4 full sized Powerbook (in the meantime,
3rd party companies can't update your existing G3, because only Apple can "enable"
them), followed by the G4 iBook to keep consumer costs down. It sounds like an Apple
strategy to me.
