Oh yes, there was one.  It was Global Villages "1st" modem.  A 2400 modem
which plugged into the ADB port.  That's 2400 *SPEED*.  I had one.  And
they they came out with FAX!  Whoo hoo!  Remember, this was when the Hayes
Microcomputer Products 2400/1200/300 silver box (almost as big as a Duo)
modem was $400.  And that was a DEAL!   

Circa 1989.

And then I just had to upgrade to "Receive Fax".  Cool thing was that it
could "wake" up my IIcx at that time being plugged into the ADB port.  

I believe (please correct me) it only had a max speed of 9600.  It was
then called the Teleport Bronze ADB.  This may be a limit of the ADB port.
