Hi Drew ,
I hope that your daughter enjoys her stay with us in OZ but I am a bit
puzzled by the advice she was given. Both my sons walk around and take
public transport to and from work even late night with 'top of the line'
powerbooks under their arms (they are computer animators for film who often
work while commuting) and they have never had a problem. Like anywhere
there are a few places you can go which put you more at risk than others
but in the main she should have no problem so long as her lodgings are
secure. I'd bring it if I was her.
