I would absolutely love to see this feature in all the backends I care
about.  I miss seeing the commented file list in the log-edit buffer.
Updating it when doing `C-x V a' seems reasonable, and adding something
like C-c C-r to the log-edit keymap to refresh the list would also be
great.
