Ok, I think I got...one list to control which journals you read, and one to
control who reads yours. [and I presume, filters on either/or both]
all other data is confidential. and/or upto the journal owner to make
viewable if they so wish.
Just a suggestion btw... but fiddling around with defaults and tick boxes
confuses people [witness my own confusion]
perhaps a set of simple tick boxes that act as 'macros' for journal settings
might not be a bad idea...kind of like ;

sort of thing maybe
