I have a question, and it may be a bit unusual, but is related to invite codes:
I'm planning on buying a seed account when they become available. If I fail to score one, I'll be turning norabombay, my primary account into premium paid. But I'm also planning on purchasing, at $3 each, about five other accounts in that same month. Partially it's name squatting- I have been meaning to blog under my 'gasp' real name, if only to confuse and google bomb myself. And while part of it is uncommon, my first name is as common as it comes- it is not actually jennifer, but i see the temptation to score 'jen' or 'jenn' or jenny while available. And if available, my actual initals are about as desireable as they come. And I need to score the dog's name for talking about him in posts. And of course I want one or two other names for what will be communities- but that I don't exactly have major plans for just yet- they will probably be very low traffic until critical mass is reached- Ohnotheydidn't these aren't. So my question: What is the best way to give dreamwidth my money, get the invite codes for say, my 5 low traffic alternate accounts, each with a specific intent, and not hurt the numbers or appear to be seriously name squatting? Is the fact that I'm perfectly willing to pay to do so a big no no? Because if I wait, my chances of getting real name go to zero. Nora Bombay, who has thought about this too much, and who's parents had no way of knowing how um, special her initials would get a few years later.
