Unrelated but quasi-relevant...

I'm hoping to get a seed account when they go on sale. (Still curious about the
number of other people interested in the same limited-quanity honor, but I
guess we'll see when the time comes.) This brings up a number of questions.

1. I signed up on DW with OpenID to help keep track of community posts and
stuff. (It's just nifty how well that works.) I just noticed that my LJ-based
OpenID has DW user # 3333. That is cool. Well, it's cool in general that there
are already over 3k users (even if many of them are duplicate accounts). But
it's personally cool to have that number. Is there any way I could quietly
subsitute my new (real) account for my (temporary) Open ID so that I can keep
the number?

2. Why does it think that account was created on 3/12 instead of 3/30?

3. I need a new username by 4/30. I suck at thinking up new usernames. Help?
Anyone?

4. Does buttering up the site owners increase your chances of getting an invite
code?

5. On a completely unrelated note... that font looks beautiful on you. Going
sans-serif is very slenderizing. I'll bet you'd look great in a dipthong.

6. Dammit, I had a real question. But, for all my fillibustering, it doesn't
seem to be coming back. *kicks memory*

7. Buying gift certificates for people who don't have accounts yet? Good way to
get money and accounts. And important, given the limited quantity of free
accounts. But... how does that work, now? I'm assuming something like the
Amazon model, where the gift certificate just gets sent to a given email
address. But what if the user doesn't want to sign up? What if they don't want
to use that email address? Doesn't it seem a little imposing/presumptive? I
guess it shouldn't be any more so than any other gift certificate, so maybe I'm
just thinking about it funny?

8. TBH, that whole bit where you thanked me for saying you were prompt and
informative and such made me do a bit of a mental double-take. I'd thought of
it as a statement of fact. I mean, emtpy compliments are against my religion,
but I hadn't actually thought of that statement in terms of a compliment.

9. Kicking one's memory seems to be counter-productive. You'd think I'd have
remembered that. ... I give up. Whatever my other question was, it's not coming
back. But there's enough here that I actually want answered that I guess I'll
just send this.

10. Okay, I don't quite give up. Looking back over things, it's clear I wanted
to ask something else about a seed account. And thinking about that brought up
a new question. So... let's say that I want to help DW get off the ground, but
that seed accounts sell out before I can get one. I've discovered, however,
that I don't really use paid account features. Making a one-time payment and
getting status/bragging rights in return sounds like a good transaction to me,
but I'm not sure what my fallback option should be. That random user
sponsorship thing sounds nifty, but any other suggestions? Also, how much paid
time can you buy at once? Is 12 months the max?
