That's what the one-click collapse would be for -- it's the inverse of the one-click expand that already exists when the original poster has chosen to cut something. I'm all in favor of there being as few people as possible in control of how the original poster's text is displayed -- your force-cut way has three (the OP, the reader, and the machine), while the one-click-collapse way has only two.
