Hi Phil,
I think I have solved your problem. I do not believe there is
anything wrong with DXBase here, it is a separate feature of the Kenwood
TS-2000 that is giving you trouble.
Check the Kenwood manual on page 73 under "AUTO MODE." I believe you
have the "AUTO MODE" function turned on. On the TS-2000 display does the
word "AUTO" appear next to the mode? If so, press [FUNC], {LSB/USB/AUTO]
and the word "AUTO" will disappear and your spots from DXBase should change
the frequency and mode of the TS-2000 just as you would expect and the mode
will stay where it should and not change back to USB or FM.
What is happening is that DXBase is changing the TS-2000 to the
frequency of the spot and then setting the mode according to the bandplan
in DXBase. THEN, the Kenwood TS-2000 CHANGES the mode AGAIN based upon the
settings in its "AUTO MODE" function.
Try turning off the "AUTO MODE" in the TS-2000 and see if that
doesn't solve the problem.
NOTE: I have a revision to the Kenwood Instruction Manual for the
TS-2000 that changes the procedure for adjusting the "AUTO MODE"
function. The revision is dated 14 July 2002. I can send it to you if you
want.
