Boy this seems to be the Interface problem week. From all my trials and tribulations with interfaces and learning things the hardway. I am betting that something is interfering with your com port/rig connection. Possibly some other program is trying to access that com port or IRQ.
Try checking all your other communication programs and see if any use the same comport or IRQ in their setup.
