I had this same thought, so I performed some slightly more rigorous testing.
(see my last post, different subject line).

While it is certainly possible that I may have been mixing and matching at some
point, it is currently the case that rpm -Vvv for each of the lib rpm's in
question fails to find any problem.  I also seem to recollect a period sometime
in the middle of this (oops, 'yesterday') afternoon in which I followed through
the imlib docs and successfully made and installed each of the libraries
mentioned.

So _all_ of the libs mentioned by imlib are on my machine, and all have been
compiled AND passed muster with rpm -V.

That still wouldn't account for things like stray extra files with version
goof-ups though, so I took a trip to the RHAD labs web site and followed
through their E section's list of libs.  All of my installed lib RPM's are
either the same as or newer than the ones they list there.  So even if my RPM's
aren't perfect, they should at least be current.  ;-)

At this point I'm so stumped I'm actually contemplating sleeping without
getting this solved.  Rash, I know, but I'm running out of other things to do.
