If you know what you're doing, you can very easily get away with the
mix-n-match approach to libraries, and you never even need confess to it
in public. ;) But if you don't have a keen understanding of how your
system libraries work, then using a variety of install methods is possibly
one of the worst things you can do, both for yourself and for those who
try to help you solve problems with your system later on.
