I guess I wasn't crystal clear. The idea is for a group of people
to pledge that they will donate 52 pints or a pint a week over a year's
time. Yes, they know about the recovery time between donations. The paper
stated that if they could get 26 people to donate every 6 months they could
fulfill the pledge.
