Ilia, There isn't really best practice recommendation on Generic map vs. TP
individual map (some time back I've been a contributor to the "Mapping best
practices" at Sterling). It's more of a business decision and hugely depends,
in my opinion, upon two major factors: what your mapping technique is and what
your testing policy/mechanism is. I've mapped for over a hundred of clients so
far, and saw pretty much an even split in approaches and opinions. IF you do
the map right and your testing is automated or semi-automated, then you most
certainly rip off a huge benefit of dealing with generic map. You partner
maintenance and new TP or new transaction onboarding becomes a snap and gets
reduced from a week or weeks to a day or even some hrs. Any global change
becomes a matter of changing one map as opposed to tens of maps. And finally
your partners and your business unit become very happy. In the mean time,
regression testing can be developed into routine, and even be done in somewhat
automated fashion. Personally, I'd only go with individual mapping if I
absolutely have to.Thanks,Alex
