Those of us who wear hearing aids have an advantage. I just turn mine off when the plane is in the air. It works well for me, like 60dB reduction in my right ear, so I choose to sit on the right side of the aisle if I can.

airplane engine.  They don't block voices to any significant degree.  And
they're very comfortable.  I find them to be a great compromise between
