Hi all, A follow-up on my problem: today I’ve opened up the belly of the KAT500 and have done some testing. With no USB cable connected and the KAT500 powered up, the Q1 drain voltage is 2.39V, where I would expect 5V. Also the gate voltage is 2.30V, where I would expect it to be floating. With the power off, I’ve measure the drain-gate resistance. It’s 5.5 k ohms. Oops!
My conclusion must be that Q1 has failed. So now I’m about to learn how to SMD components, hi hi.
