I completely agree. For years I used various $20 computer headsets with
electret mics with my K3 and my audio quality (both from reports and my
own monitoring) was excellent. The audio response settings on the K3
make that readily possible.
I use a CM500 now simply for the better quality headphones. For the
most part, any decent electret mic will rival any other more expensive
(some of which are WAY more expensive) microphone people feel compelled
to use.

Almost any quality dynamic or electret mic will work well with
the K3/K3S/K4. I alternate between a boom mic headset (CM500)
and a Kenwood MC-43 hand mic.
For ease of use (plug and play) the MC-60 is hard to beat. If
one is willing to do some shopping for desk stand and wire the
necessary cable/PTT/Foot switch, etc. something like the Shure
PGA48 (Amazon, etc.) would be an excellent solution.

Hello,
I want to know what microphones you are using with your K3. I have a
Kenwood MC-60, which works well, but I also want to know if there is a
better options that you suggest.
Many thanks,
