Oh. Um, wasn't this the function that was subject to discussion of is
'test -nt' suitable? I didn't check that the code was written and all,
just assumed.
Um, it could hardly do worse than 'error,' I guess. :) But I can't
think of a good solution to the issue of what happens when we cannot
actually do the test, except to throw an error. :/
