It'll only happen once the user's mucked with the source list, so it should be the user's responsibility. But I can see complicated cases, eg. the user creates a new label in gmail, or a folder using other client, and it never shows up. Maybe new folders should make the source list by default, with a simple way to remove them. (cmd-drag out?) Right now, I have gmail in Mail showing me unreads for the Spam folder and for the All Mail folder. The All Mail folder works inconsistently, you just can't believe anything it says. So I just don't care about unreads in these folders. I also don't care about unreads in the facebook folder, I check it once a decade. I can see the problem of the user thinking email is lost forever. I'm just not sure I want do something about it. I say, wait until we have a real app and real complaints. Until then, badge will do. Said badge, obviously configurable. Some don't even want a badge. _______________________________________________ [email protected] mailing list List help: http://lists.ranchero.com/listinfo.cgi/email-init-ranchero.com
